Poznań offers a variety of accommodations ranging from inexpensive hostels through comfortable three and four-star hotels to a few five-star hotels. There are also many Airbnb options and rental apartments. They range in price from 120 Euro/night (5-stars) through 60-70 Euro (4 stars) to 30-40 Euro (3 stars and 1-2 bdrm Airbnb) offering a good accommodation standard and a competitive price point in comparison with hotels in North America or Western Europe. Most of the hotel base is located in the city center.
Poznań has a robust public transportation system (streetcars/trams and buses) and efficient private transportation (Uber, mytaxi, taxi companies). The campus of AMU, where the proposed conference venue is located, can be reached by public transport from the city center in 30 minutes (please see the schematic map below; the red dots are locations of few exemplary hotels in the city center, campus is marked by “GIScience 2020” as the proposed conference venue). The conference participants will be provided with a weekly public transportation pass good for all city trams and buses. Alternatively, taking an Uber one can reach the campus in 15-20 minutes at a cost of 4 Euros.
